Giving Back to the Community

For more than a century, Reliance Matrix has strived to improve the quality of life, not only of its customers, but also of its employees and the communities in which they live. For the past 20-plus years we have supported cultural and educational causes through generous funding of the Delphi Project Foundation, which seeks to positively impact underserved youth in Philadelphia.

Adding to the Educational Paradigm

Delphi Project Foundation programs take place both during and after school, offering students a stimulating, safe and supervised place to gather. The programs provide students with a structured outlet to express themselves through art, dance, filmmaking, and other forms of creative expression. Delphi Project Foundation is committed to bringing exceptional arts experiences into the Philadelphia public schools. The Delphi Project Foundation is recognized as an Educational Improvement Organization by the Pennsylvania Department of Community and Economic Development.

Delphi Project Foundation Partners

Delphi Project Foundation partners with extraordinary, world-renowned cultural institutions such as The Philadelphia Museum of Art, Pennsylvania Ballet and The Philadelphia Zoo, to introduce the arts to Philadelphia’s public school students. Delphi Project Foundation provides innovative arts education and career training programs that increase accessibility to the arts, promote cultural expression, and strengthen the fabric of the community.

Lifelong Benefits

Since 1996, tens of thousands of teens have benefited from Delphi Project Foundation’s cultural outreach programs. These programs in both the visual and performing arts build self-esteem, enhance awareness of career opportunities in the Arts and help to develop critical thinking skills. In fact, recent research suggests that Arts education can improve student performance in intellectual and academic areas, including math and science.

Delphi Summer Teen Media Impact Video

The Delphi Summer Teen Media program was thrilled to return to an in-person, six-week summer intensive format for the first time in two years! The program was creatively and successfully held virtually during COVID. The program provides Philadelphia students the opportunity to create original films, from script to screen, under the mentorship of professional filmmakers. Students learn about each phase of the filmmaking process, including camera techniques, script writing, cinematography, directing, lighting, costume design, acting, and editing. STEM Scholars Participate in Paid Summer Internships (10/22)

Each summer rising seniors in the STEM Scholars Program are matched with a local university or corporation in their field of interest for paid, real-world internships. Host sites this summer included Penn Medicine, Drexel University’s School of Engineering, the Discovery Center, Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia, Jacob’s Engineering Group, St. Joseph’s University, Philadelphia College of Osteopathic Medicine, among others. On September 21, these outstanding students presented their internship experiences at the STEM Scholars Internship Showcase.

Delphi Project Foundation and the Philadelphia Hispanic Community (9/22)

As we celebrate Hispanic Heritage Month, it is important to highlight Delphi Project Foundation’s (DPF) deep connection to the Philadelphia Hispanic community. For more than twenty years, DPF has worked with Taller Puertorriqueño and Esperanza.

Delphi Teen Sketch Program Back at the Museum (9/22)

Delphi Teen Sketch is a high school program for Philadelphia public school students to explore, create, and discuss art alongside other Philadelphia teens.

Delphi Summer Teen Media Back to In-Person Learning (8/22)

The Delphi Teen Media Program returned to the intensive six-week in-person program this summer. The program provides Philadelphia students the opportunity to create original films under the mentorship of professional filmmakers. High School Choreographic Mentorship Students Perform at the Mann Center (8/22)

The High School Choreographic Mentorship Students had the opportunity to dance on stage accompanied by the All City Orchestra Summer Academy (ACOSA) at the Mann Center on August 4.

STEM Scholars Students Awarded $4 Million in Scholarships (7/22)

Congratulations to the graduating STEM Scholars students! These extraordinary students collectively earned 121 acceptances into 69 colleges and universities around the country. They were also awarded four-year scholarships totaling more than $4 million! The future is bright for these students.

Motion & Music Academy Students Perform at the Mann Center (6/22)

Students in the Mann Motion & Music Academy (MMA) program performed for family and friends at the Mann Center in May. Delphi Project Foundation helps support the program which includes dance, drumming, and choir programming for students from Global Leadership Academy (GLA). MMA features professional instructors from Philadelphia Ballet, MadBeatz Philly, and Sister Cities Choir. From October to May, the students worked with their instructors in twice a week after school classes. Sixty-two students participated in this year’s program.

Another Successful Summer Dance Camp! (7/22)

The annual Let’s Dance Summer Camp took place in June at the Esperanza Theater and Arts Center. The camp, in partnership with Philadelphia Ballet, is a two-week immersive program that serves middle and high school students from across Philadelphia who are interested in taking their love of dance to the next level.

Teen Sketch Students Exhibit at Cherry Street Pier (6/22)

The Delphi Teen Sketch Club collaborated with the Delphi Project/Philadelphia Ballet on “Behind the Stage Door” earlier this year. The students created self-portraits that embraced the theme of invisibility, hidden stories, and transformation. The students’ work was displayed at the Cherry Street Pier during the month of May. The students also submitted an artist statement to give the viewer insight into their process, thoughts and feelings when creating their work of art. Dance Students Perform at Cherry Street Pier (5/22)

For the first time in two years, Delphi Project Foundation students in the Let’s Dance Program and the High Choreographic Mentorship Program performed in-person to an enthusiastic crowd of family, friends, and visitors at the Cherry Street Pier.

High School Choreographic Mentorship Program (4/22)

The Choreographic Mentorship Program provides a unique opportunity for students who are interested in exploring the craft of choreography. Students meet weekly with professional dance mentors who guide them through the choreographic process with the goal of creating an original dance piece. The program offers an intensive learning experience that will allow the students to build their dance portfolio to prepare for the college level.

Professional artists visit Delphi Teen Sketch and Teen Media Programs (3/22)

In addition to learning visual art and filmmaking skills, a primary goal of the Delphi Project Program is to introduce students to professional artists and a variety of career paths and opportunities. While the pandemic has created challenges, one awesome benefit of virtual programming is access to artists from all of the country.

Save the Date: Behind the Stage Door Opening Night: April 29, 2022 (3/22)

Delphi Project Foundation’s partnership with Philadelphia Ballet will culminate with a multimedia performance and visual art exhibition at the Cherry Street Pier this spring.
